H&M-Inspired Colorblock Nails

So I got the new H&M catalogue and just now got to reading it. I loved the beachy photos and bright colors. One outfit caught my eye...

Super sleek and chic. Great for a manicure!

Sort of a chevron-meets-colorblock idea. Plus neons. Perfect and on-trend for summer. 

Plus, easy!

Step 1: Gather materials. Needed are nail polishes (white, black and two neon colors, use pink and yellow to stay true to the H&M outfit!), tape, scissors and top coat.

Step 2: Paint the nails white. Cut two thin strips of our tape, set up in a "V" pattern on nail as seen above.

Step 3: Paint the inside of the "V" pink, the outsides yellow. Peel off tape as fast as you can so the polish doesn't dry then pull and rip as it sometimes does. Make sure these coats aren't really gloomy, keep them thin so the paint doesn't drool into the white "V". Let dry.

Step 4: Take your paintbrush and paint the outline of the yellow "V" to finish the pattern and add some contrast! Let dry, apply top coat.

Neon Zebra Nail Tutorial

Neon is all the trend this spring!

Neon jewelry, clothes, and accessories are popping up everywhere. So, naturally I had to do a nail tutorial! 

The bright neon nail polish really makes the zebra stripes pop! It will definitely catch eyes. Wear it shopping, to the beach, everywhere! People will be amazed you did it yourself :).

Step 1: Gather materials. Needed are white nail polish, neon colors (use three different colors), black nail polish, and clear coat. Now, for the stripes; I used Bundlemonster's nail plates (which are just like Konad, but I got them for cheap from Ebay). I used plate BM16 with the Zebra pattern on it. 

If you don't have plates, you can paint stripes on your nails with a thin paintbrush and the black polish.

Step 2: Paint the nails a base of white. Get your 3 neon colors and a q-tip, soaked with nail polish remover; this is so that you can quickly clean up any polish that gets on your fingers.

Step 3: With your first color, paint 1/3 of the nail. Then, QUICKLY, while the paint is still wet, paint the next 1/3 with your other color, blending a little bit. Then, again with wet paint, paint the last 1/3 of nail. The colors should be blended slightly. Clean off any polish on fingers with q-tip.

Step 4: Use the nail plate (when nail has COMPLETELY dried), or paint on the stripes. For the nail plate, paint a small amount of black on the top of the pattern. Use the scraper to scrape firmly against plate, bringing the polish into the whole pattern. Pick up this "decal" with the stamp, and then stamp immediately on nail, you want to sort of "roll" it from one side to another. 

Step 5: It should look like this! Clean up again with q-tip. Repeat on each nail!

When completely dry, paint on clear coat to seal.

Anthropologie's Dipped Sessile Necklace

How absolutely perfect is this necklace for summer? Anthropologie's Dipped Sessile Necklace is one you will definitely want to add to your wardrobe! Best of all, this tutorial is so fast to make, with minimal "ingredients". Have a bunch of collected shells? Use this technique on those if you don't have coral pieces! I had a ton of coral and shells that I collected while on a trip to Florida. Now I know what I will be doing with most of them!

See how similar? No one will know you didn't spend $48 on the real thing, and it's good you won't!

Make them in a collection of neon colors; neon is a total spring trend, so follow along and be right on point with this season's fashion!

Let's get started.

Step 1: Gather materials. Needed are scissors, thin wire, chain, a jumping, neon nailpolish, and a piece of coral or shell (with a hole thru it). You might need a thin paintbrush to make a clean line if the nailpolish brush won't.

Step 2: Wire the coral. Cut about a 5" length of your wire and tightly wrap around your coral a few times. Twist the wire into a loop at the back and put a big glob of glue there to hold in place. Let dry.

Step 2: Paint the coral. Pick your color of nailpolish. Paint about half of the coral. You may need two coats to cover fully. Let dry!

Wear them all at once!

All the Rage's Rainbowlicious Hoops

This newest tutorial is full of color! Rainbowlicious, in fact. Inspired by All the Rage's Day Bright Rainbowlicious Hoops, these simple earrings come together quickly. All you need is some wire and thread!  I used tie-dye embroidery floss from Michael's to create the tie-dye look. If you don't have any, you can use just plain colors.  

This accessory is on trend, as many designers are incorporating bright neon color into their designs and outfits for spring.

Let's get started.

Step 1: Gather materials. Needed are pliers, some superglue and hot glue, craft wire (a somewhat thicker gauge, maybe like 16 or so), embroidery floss, ear wires and jump rings.

I used a strand of tie-dye embroidery floss and a strand of plain yellow to create the striped look.

Step 2: Make your frames. Bend your wire around something round to create two identical hoops. My hoops were 2" in diameter. Then, put a dab of hot glue where the ends meet to hold them in place.

Step 3: Begin wrapping. Cut about 2.5" of one strand of bright yellow and one strand of tie-dye embroidery floss. Tie them in a knot onto your hoop, right next to the glue glob. Begin wrapping, making sure that the strands stay right next to each other to make even stripes.

Step 4: Continue wrapping. Keep the tension even and tight onto the hoop. Wrap all the way to your beginning knot. When I got to this point, I cut the excess string from the knot at the beginning and superglued the knot to hold close. Then, I wrapped my string over this knot to sort of hide it, then superglued the strands at the back, waited till dry, then cut these as well. 

Step 5: Finishing. It should look somewhat like this when done. With your jump ring, carefully hook it under two strands at the top and close. Add your ear wires to this jump ring to finish! Repeat for the other earring!
